Features & Applications

BT-384 organobentonite is a novel type of organic clay characterized by easy dispersion, high thixotropy, and excellent transparency. Suitable for low- to medium-polarity systems, the product requires only a small amount of activator and can be dispersed rapidly through high-shear mixing. It offers outstanding resistance to sagging and running, along with ideal thickening and thixotropic stabilization properties. The product can be added directly at any stage of production. After complete addition, an activator amounting to 20% of the organobentonite dosage should be incorporated, followed by high-speed or milling dispersion. Typical addition levels range from 0.2% to 1.5% for general coatings, and from 1% to 2.7% for high-thixotropy or thick-film coatings. It is applicable as a thickening and thixotropic agent in sealants, high-temperature lubricating greases, asphalt paints, chlorinated rubber paints, premium-grade coatings, furniture paints, and similar formulations.
